Honoring the 2026 Eugene Oriol Memorial Scholarship Recipients

Honoring the 2026 Eugene Oriol Memorial Scholarship Recipients

Investing in the future of healthcare through education, compassion, and opportunity.

Each year, the Oriol Foundation proudly honors the legacy of Eugene Oriol by investing in the future of healthcare. Through the Eugene Oriol Memorial Scholarship Program, we recognize individuals whose compassion, dedication, and commitment to serving others embody the values that have guided Oriol Health Care for more than 60 years.

We are proud to announce the recipients of the 2026 Eugene Oriol Memorial Scholarships.

Lily Leroux holds her certificate after receiving the 2026 Eugene Oriol Memorial Community Scholarship from the Oriol Foundation.

Community Scholarship Recipient

Lily Leroux

The 2026 Eugene Oriol Memorial Community Scholarship has been awarded to Lily Leroux, a graduate of Wachusett Regional High School who will attend Sacred Heart University this fall to pursue a degree in Nursing.

Lily’s passion for healthcare grew from both personal experience and a genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of children and families. In her scholarship essay, she reflected on how navigating her own healthcare journey with Graves’ disease gave her a unique perspective on the importance of compassionate caregivers and inspired her dream of becoming a pediatric nurse. She also shared experiences caring for children and responding to emergencies, reinforcing her commitment to a career dedicated to helping others.

Her resilience, empathy, and determination made her an outstanding choice for this year’s Community Scholarship.

Team Member Scholarship Recipient

Mario Muto

The 2026 Eugene Oriol Memorial Team Member Scholarship has been awarded to Mario Muto, an 11–7 Supervisor at Holden Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing Center who is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing through Southern New Hampshire University.

Mario’s essay reflected his desire to continue growing as a healthcare professional while making a broader impact on the quality of care delivered to patients and families. His experiences both personally and professionally have strengthened his commitment to nursing, leadership, and lifelong learning.

As a valued member of the Oriol Health Care family, Mario represents the dedication and pursuit of excellence that the Team Member Scholarship was created to encourage.

Honoring Eugene Oriol’s Legacy

The Eugene Oriol Memorial Scholarships were established to honor the memory of Eugene Oriol, whose vision of compassionate, family-centered care continues to shape Oriol Health Care today.

Each year, the Oriol Foundation awards:

  • The Eugene Oriol Memorial Community Scholarship, supporting graduating seniors from the Wachusett community who are pursuing careers in healthcare.
  • The Eugene Oriol Memorial Team Member Scholarship, helping Oriol Health Care employees begin or advance their nursing careers through continued education.

These scholarships reflect the Foundation’s ongoing commitment to strengthening healthcare—not only by caring for today’s patients, but by investing in tomorrow’s caregivers.

“Supporting future healthcare professionals and investing in the continued education of our own team members is one of the most meaningful ways we can honor Eugene Oriol’s legacy,” said Nathan Oriol, MBA, NHA, President of the Oriol Foundation. “Lily and Mario each demonstrate the compassion, determination, and commitment to service that these scholarships were created to recognize. We are proud to support them as they continue their educational journeys and look forward to seeing the difference they will make in the lives of others.”

Congratulations!

Congratulations to Lily Leroux and Mario Muto on this well-deserved recognition.

We look forward to celebrating both recipients during an upcoming scholarship presentation ceremony, where they will officially receive their awards and be recognized by the Oriol Foundation.

We wish them continued success as they pursue their education and carry forward a tradition of compassionate care.
