Oriol Health Care Announces Exciting Career Development for Alexys Gonelli-Perrone

August 14, 2024/in Holden Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing Center, News/by Angelique Harvey

At Oriol Health Care, we believe in fostering the growth and development of our team members. We are thrilled to announce an exciting new chapter in the career of one of our own, Alexys “Lexy” Gonelli-Perrone, who has been accepted into the Nursing Home Administrator in Training (AIT) program. This milestone marks the culmination of years of hard work, dedication, and a deep commitment to providing exceptional care to our residents.

A Journey of Dedication and Passion

Lexy’s journey with Oriol Health Care began in 2012 when she volunteered at the Oakdale Rehab & Skilled Nursing Center. Her passion for elderly care quickly became apparent, leading her to pursue an associate degree focused on healthcare. In 2013, Lexy took on the role of Resident Life Assistant at Oakdale, where her compassionate care and positive energy quickly made her an invaluable part of the team.

Driven by her love for the healthcare field, Lexy continued her education, earning a Bachelor of Science in Public Health. Her commitment to excellence and her strong work ethic led her to the role of Executive Assistant at Oriol Health Care’s Corporate Office in 2020, where she has been a key player in supporting our operations and ensuring the smooth functioning of our organization.

A Dream Realized

Lexy’s acceptance into the Nursing Home Administrator in Training program is the realization of a long-held dream. Under the mentorship of Tara D’Andrea, MBA, NHA, FACHCA, our Director of Operations and a licensed nursing home administrator, Lexy will gain the hands-on experience and knowledge needed to excel in her new role. This transition not only marks a significant step in Lexy’s career but also reinforces Oriol Health Care’s commitment to nurturing talent and promoting from within.

Beth Cogavin, MBA, Chief Operating Officer, shared: “Lexy has been a positive force in every role she has undertaken at Oriol Health Care. Her dedication, enthusiasm, and commitment to our residents and staff have been nothing short of inspiring. We are incredibly proud to support her as she takes this next step in her career and look forward to seeing her continued growth and success.”

Celebrating Growth and Excellence

At Oriol Health Care, we pride ourselves on being a place where employees can grow and thrive. Lexy’s journey is a testament to our commitment to career development and healthcare excellence. She has demonstrated time and again her passion for caring for our elderly population, and we are confident that she will bring the same level of dedication and positivity to her role as a Nursing Home Administrator in Training.

Tara D’Andrea, MBA, NHA, FACHCA, Director of Operations, expressed: “I have had the privilege of working closely with Lexy, and I have seen firsthand her commitment to our mission and her passion for elder care. Her journey from volunteer to Administrator in Training is a remarkable example of what can be achieved with hard work and dedication. I am excited to mentor Lexy through this next stage of her career.”

Looking Ahead

As Lexy embarks on this exciting new chapter, we invite everyone in the Oriol Health Care family to join us in congratulating her on this significant achievement. Her story is not only one of personal growth but also a reflection of the supportive and nurturing environment that we strive to create for all our employees.

In her own words, Alexys “Lexy” Gonelli-Perrone shared: “Oriol Health Care has been my home for many years, and I am incredibly grateful for the opportunities I have been given to grow both personally and professionally. I am excited to take on this new challenge and continue to contribute to the well-being of our residents in this new capacity. I look forward to learning from Tara and the entire team as I work towards becoming a Nursing Home Administrator.”

A Bright Future

Lexy’s progression within Oriol Health Care exemplifies our belief in the potential of our employees and our dedication to fostering career advancement. Her story is a wonderful example of how dedication, education, and support can lead to significant professional milestones. We are proud to have Lexy as part of the Oriol Health Care family and are excited to see her thrive in this new role.

Please join us in celebrating Lexy’s achievement and wishing her continued success in her journey towards becoming a Nursing Home Administrator.

Olympic Spirit Shines at Holden Rehab & Skilled Nursing

Congratulations to our medal winners!

At Holden Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing, our Resident Life Director, Ildi Kolonusz, and her amazing team have once again gone above and beyond, creating a memorable and joyful event for our residents. Over the past two weeks, our residents embraced the Olympic spirit with enthusiasm and vigor, participating in a variety of activities designed to challenge both body and mind.

The games were a wonderful way for our residents to engage in friendly competition while staying active and mentally sharp. Points were earned through various activities, including cognitive games, physical exercises, and even just showing up and participating. Luck also played a part, making the games exciting and unpredictable.

Our residents each drew a country to represent, and the competition was fierce but fun. In the end, the USA took home the gold, with Canada earning silver and Mexico proudly holding the bronze. The winners were honored with framed replicas of gold, silver, and bronze Olympic medals, and their smiles showed just how much the recognition meant to them.

This event is just one example of how we strive to create a vibrant and fulfilling environment for our residents at Holden Rehab. Congratulations to all who participated and to our winners—you’ve made us all proud!
