Continuing a Family Tradition of Caring—and Leading in Healthcare Excellence
Oriol Health Care is proud to share that Bob Oriol, President and CEO of Oriol Health Care, has been recognized with the 2026 Chair’s Distinguished Service Award by the American College of Health Care Administrators (ACHCA).
Presented by ACHCA Chair Mark Prifogle, FACHCA, this award honors Bob’s exceptional leadership and longstanding commitment to the New England Alliance (NEA) and District 1. It is a national recognition that reflects not only his contributions to the profession, but also the values that have shaped Oriol Health Care for decades.
As Mark Prifogle shared in his nomination letter:
“There are some people whose impact on this College is easy to measure, and then there are people like you, whose impact is woven so deeply into the life of ACHCA that it can hardly be separated from the story of the members and leaders you have served along the way. You are one of those people.”
Bob Oriol has been a cornerstone of Oriol Health Care since 1987, when he succeeded his father, Eugene “Gene” Oriol, as Administrator of Holden Nursing Home. Since then, he has helped guide the organization through decades of growth while maintaining the family’s commitment to high-quality, compassionate care.
With an MBA from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and advanced study in Health Care Administration at Clark University, Bob has built a career grounded in both strong leadership and a deep understanding of the healthcare field. His involvement extends beyond Oriol Health Care—serving on the Board of the Massachusetts Senior Care Association, as President of the New England Alliance of ACHCA, and on the boards of numerous local charitable organizations.
Throughout his career, Bob has remained dedicated to advancing post-acute and long-term care, while also supporting the communities that have trusted Oriol Health Care for generations.
This recognition speaks not only to Bob’s role within Oriol Health Care, but also to his broader impact on the healthcare industry.
Through his work with ACHCA and regional leadership organizations, Bob has contributed to the development of best practices, mentorship of emerging leaders, and the continued advancement of quality care across the field.
His leadership has also had a lasting impact through the New England Alliance, where his role in planning and supporting decades of educational programs and conferences has helped create opportunities for professionals to learn, connect, and grow within the field.
As noted in his nomination, this kind of contribution reflects not only years of service, but a deep and ongoing commitment to strengthening the profession and the community around it.
A Reflection on Leadership
“This recognition reflects the work of so many dedicated professionals across our organization and throughout the field. I’m grateful to be part of a community committed to advancing quality care and supporting the individuals and families we serve every day.”
— Bob Oriol

Bob Oriol accepts the Chair’s Distinguished Service Award at the ACHCA Convention.
In addition to his leadership within the healthcare profession, Bob has remained deeply committed to the communities Oriol Health Care serves.
That commitment is reflected in his involvement with the Oriol Foundation, which supports initiatives focused on education, wellness, and community connection. Through programs such as scholarships, caregiver support groups, and community events, the Foundation extends the mission of Oriol Health Care beyond its facilities and into the lives of individuals and families throughout the region.
This work reflects a broader philosophy that quality care is not limited to a single setting—it is strengthened through community engagement, support, and meaningful relationships.
At Oriol Health Care, leadership is not just about oversight—it’s about culture.
The values that have guided the organization for more than 60 years—compassion, teamwork, and a commitment to excellence—continue to influence the care delivered every day across Holden Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing Center, Oakdale Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing Center, and throughout the Oriol Health Care family.
This recognition reflects the strength of that foundation and the continued impact of leadership that prioritizes both people and quality.
Bob’s recognition at the national level reflects a long-standing commitment to care that begins in the community and extends across the profession.
At Oriol Health Care, we are proud to build on this legacy—providing skilled nursing, rehabilitation, and long-term care with a focus on personalized care, strong clinical leadership, and meaningful outcomes.
Please join us in congratulating Bob Oriol on this well-deserved honor.
Our family taking care of yours.
